Fees and Formats
Equity of Access
Through the generosity of Friends of MITS, special project grants together with funding support from foundations and corporations, MITS subsidizes the costs associated with travel and other program expenses. We also provide direct program subsidy of up to 30% for qualifying schools in under-resourced communities, to a maximum of $1500 per project. However, all subsidy funds are limited. We encourage you to contact the office as early in the school year as possible. Please send us an email with your:
- name and contact information
- the name and location of the school
- program or project idea
- date(s) or time of year
- number of classes per grade, and number of students per class
- available budget
Out-of Town Requests
With the assistance from project grants and our generous donors, we do our best to subsidize travel expenses for our artists. However, because these funds are limited, there may be circumstances where the school is asked to contribute to travel expenses, please contact the MITS office to discuss your situation.
A minimum of 2 performances or full day of workshops is required for artist travelling beyond 50 km of their residence but returning in the same day. For visits requiring an overnight stay, a minimum 2 day visit with: up to 3 performances per day or, 2 workshop days is required.
Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation due to inclement weather, illness etc. we make every effort to reschedule the visit. However, in other cases a $100 cancellation penalty may be charged.
