Mentoring with Emerging Artists
In 2010 MITS, in partnership with Inner City Angels, initiated an Artist Renewal Program – a 3-year project funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, that provided emerging artists with an opportunity to be mentored by veteran MITS performers.
MITS continues to provide opportunities for emerging performing artists who are beginning their careers or professional artists new to Canada to work with veteran MITS performers, either in performance or classroom activity, as they develop their own arts education program.
This opportunity is available on a limited basis. Once accepted and an appropriate veteran MITS artist is available, an emerging artist is provided with a stipend $150 per day, maximum of 5 days.
At this time, the following artists are being mentored with various veteran artists.
Bailey Davis, an emerging dancer, is mentoring with dancer, choreographer and arts educator Sarina Condello.
